VCM Suite: Latest News |

RS454
- Commodore VE SS-V
Subsequent to its inclusion in the VCM Performance fleet in
July 2009, the VCM Performance Voodoo Blue VE SS-V manual
sedan has, in its test mule role, been subjected to an
ongoing development program involving various brake / pad
iterations, superchargers, camshafts, exhaust and intake
combinations.
Originally built to compete in the annual Motor Magazine Hot
Tuner Shootout where when faced with some unusual
conditions, it achieved 7th place outright against no less
than 22 vehicles.

Initial enhancements
included a full VCM Performance header/cat/twin 3” exhaust
system, Harrop Truetrac, high performance clutch, entry
level Bilstein / H&R suspension, and Toyo Proxes 888 tyres.
Pitted against a raft of tough V8s, turbo Falcons and
imported exotica, the SS-V acquitted itself well in taking
the number one Aussie muscle car slot, it beat the 460 rwkW
Shelby GT500 Super Snake, a pair of breathed on BMW 335’s,
Mitsubishi Evo X, Mazda RX8, STi, and KPM’s monster 550 kW
VE.
Since the Motor test the car has been equipped with a baby
camshaft, VCM twin in-tank fuel system, 200 and 100 cell
catalytic converter variations, modified 3” exhaust, Ferodo
DS brake pads, and finally the new VCM Suite VE
(supercharged) OTR. Over the past months we’ve entered the
vehicle in two Sandown, one Philip Island and One Calder
track day, with a minimum of two drivers per outing, without
the car missing a beat – and in the process posting some
truly impressive lap times.
The VCM OTR was fitted only recently, resulting in a
noticeable power increase to over 410 rwkW along with vastly
improved throttle response.
Thanks to the subtle camshaft, and the amazing power
delivery offered by the OTR equipped Harrop HTV1900
supercharger, the SS-V proves a pleasure to drive in all
conditions – yet is one fast car when the right foot is
depressed.
We also had an RS350 Ute competing at the Tuner Shootout,
acquitting itself extremely well running a strong quarter
mile time, braking and handling better than many of the Euro
cars.

Sportswagon
- 12.01@124mph
In conjunction with Patterson Cheney we prepared a Voodoo
Blue SS-V Sportswagon fitting a Harrop HTV1900, exhaust,
heavy duty clutch, Harrop Ultimate braking system and
RaceSport Bilstein/H&R suspension.
Tested by Motor Magazine, it proved an absolute weapon,
which we in fact track tested at Heathcoat Park Raceway
where it peeled off a slow starting 12.01 @ 124 mph pass
over the quarter mile.

CV8 Monaro
- It's Back!
Following a minor track incident some months ago our 2002
CV8 Monaro has been undergoing several changes (when we can
find the time!) including equipping it with a full roll cage
with boot extension. Its 500 rwkW 408 LS2 stroker with 12psi
Harrop HTV2300 supercharger is being fitted with an
accumulator, it has new fully adjustable Bilstein race front
struts, as well as a raft of minor enhancements.
All being well, we will have the vehicle back on the road
and more importantly, the race track, in the next month
where we are looking to lay down some serious lap times
thanks in part to the assistance of 305mm wide rear slicks.
